News Brief: The Injustice of Climate Change

We love it when The New York Times says exactly what we want it to.

On the front page of the Times on Sunday, April 1st, there was an article about climate change. And it wasn’t just any climate change article: it was about climate justice. Climate change affects the poorest of people first and most profoundly. Yet, these are the people who contribute the least to global warming.

The Times followed the article above with a second last week that takes you through the stories of people literally on the front lines of a rapidly changing world. Check out the articles and see if you don’t think a little differently about climate change after you read them: Article #1; Article #2.

Greengrants supports hundreds of local groups working to combat climate change. We fund their own initiatives, in their own communities. While the challenges are immense, people around the world are stepping up to the plate—rising to meet a problem that they have not caused. Global Greengrants Fund

Global Greengrants Fund believes solutions to environmental harm and social injustice come from people whose lives are most impacted. Every day, our global network of people on the frontlines and donors comes together to support communities to protect their ways of life and our planet. Because when local people have a say in the health of their food, water, and resources, they are forces for change.
