After the unremarkable outcome of the UN Climate Change Conference in December 2009, it is more important than ever for philanthropists and grantmakers to identify new opportunities in addressing one of the world’s most pressing issues. In January, Greengrants CEO Terry Odendahl participated in a collaborative program on “The Post-Copenhagen Funding Landscape: Immediate Opportunities in Climate Change,” along with the Environmental Grantmakers Association and the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, and hosted by Philanthropy New York. There, Terry offered her perspective on the importance of the grassroots movement in tackling climate change and the role of Greengrants and other funders in providing small grants to make a big difference.
